Fixed Wing Pilot - UASO-AO

Description:

Fixed Wing Pilot: As a pilot you will have two career paths to choose from: Logistics Pilot or Test Pilot. For those who lack the experience and knowledge, a comprehensive 90-Day self paced training program will be available. During this training program you will learn the basics of flight: weather theory/application, aerodynamics, aircraft systems, Air Traffic Control System, Airspace System, navigation, aeromedical factors, emergency procedures, flying IFR, and so much more. In addition to this curriculum you will have the opportunity for one on one ‘sessions' with a real world pilot to help you nail that approach or maybe clarify something on aerodynamics… As a pilot for the UASO we can truly say that you will be the most qualified pilot in the VA/VSA hobby. You'll be flying circles around the pilots of our competition and correcting the errors made by VATSIM controllers... No other organization can offer you this degree of training and realism. The question is: have you got what it takes?

Logistics Pilot: As the name implies, logistics is your game. You'll be tasked with transporting people and cargo from place to place via scheduled and on demand operations. Here at the UASO we simulate day to day operations with the highest degree of realism. Some operations you will encounter include charter, running freight, and airline service. A few of our current operations includes transporting personnel for executive meetings, ferrying ‘employees' from various offices and so forth to determine the operating cost of particular aircraft(s), setting up the most practical dispatching technique(s) and maintenance program among other things. You'll be keeping track of your fuel consumption, flight hours, useful load, routing…etc In addition to this corporate style flying, larger aircraft will be used to carry out “contracts” with other virtual airlines to allow members to experience the life of an airline pilot. As an organization this will give us an opportunity to calculate fuel consumption, optimize routing, and help a study on how to reduce operating costs and maximize the use of resources.

Test Pilot: The most prestigious accomplishment is to become a test pilot. A test pilot will require additional training for operating programs to gather information about a flight. You will be tasked with performing certain flight maneuvers, determining aircraft limitations among other things. During these test flights you will be asked to make suggestions on how to make the aircraft more efficient and easier to pilot. You will work closely with our engineers on various projects.
